How we are going to deliver?

Startup, working with prisons, probation, employment agencies, housing specialists, counsellors and women’s centres will organise Startupnow Days. These will offer a wide range of services designed to get women back on track and taking responsibility for their own lives.

Startupnow Days will:

  • Run in women’s prisons as well as from St Ethelburga’s, Bishopsgate, London and in women’s centres predominantly in the South East.
  • Offer a wide range of taster sessions aimed at improving self-esteem, education and personal development.
  • Work with partners in the statutory and voluntary sectors to deliver a top quality service to allow women to focus on themselves and their future.
  • Facilitate links with mainstream agencies especially in the areas of finance and debt.
  • Invite women already running successful Startup supported businesses to act as positive role models and become peer mentors to our candidates.
  • Offer business advisers to give support in book keeping, banking and preparing a viable business plan.
  • Provide transport and crèche facilities.

Suitable candidates will go on to receive a grant of up to £2,500 for tools and equipment to start up their own business, a personal mentor and access to our database of business information.
